Group exercise sessions

Book onto an Antenatal or Postnatal Fitness session now.

Exercise during pregnancy and after birth has amazing benefits for both mums and babies.

During the coronavirus outbreak we are hosting live online exercise sessions with our fully qualified trainer. Antenatal sessions are run on Thursdays at 10-11.30am and Postnatal sessions are run on Thursdays at 12.30-2pm.

In-person, postnatal sessions run every Tuesday at 10.30am - 12.30pm at St Catherine's Hall, Southend Road, Wickford. This a rolling programme – Mums can enrol at any point, provided places are available. When you sign up it entitles you to 8 sessions to take weekly. If your baby has an illness or an appointment and you have to miss a session, it is still valid for another time. You can bring your baby along to the class.

You need to have had your 6 week Postnatal checks before attending the class. You should wait for 6 weeks before attending the class if you've had a vaginal delivery and 12 weeks if you've had a c-section to give optimum time for recovery.

If you would like to join please contact Sally Taylor on 07818 091042.

Sensible exercise during pregnancy:

  • Helps you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain
  • Helps you to cope with labour

Please read this helpful article from Tommy's, to see under what circumstances you need to be more careful when exercising during pregnancy.

Exercising after the birth helps you to get back into shape.

So why not join one of our Fit 4 Mums group exercise sessions? They are fun and friendly and suitable for everyone (even if you don’t normally exercise). It’s also a great way of meeting other local mums before and after birth.

Please note: Our exercise sessions are for mums that live in Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Canvey Island and Thurrock only - This is due to funding restrictions.
