Celebrate Volunteering in Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond: Sharing, connecting and surviving

Not to be missed! Save the date and book your ticket to join us at our 2020 conference on Tuesday 17 March 2020 at the NCVO in London.

Evidence is overwhelming that volunteering and peer support can make a unique and valuable contribution to the well-being of parents and babies. So why are so many amazing initiatives struggling to survive?

Our mission at Parents 1st UK is to enable perinatal volunteering to flourish despite the challenges we face.

This conference will not only celebrate examples of what is being achieved across the UK but will also launch a brand-new website full of knowledge, ideas and hundreds of resources - for free! We need to share, connect and find new solutions together.

This conference will be suitable for…

Anyone involved or interested in planning, delivering or funding a perinatal volunteer initiative including:

  • Midwives developing Community Hubs;
  • Maternity Voices Volunteers;
  • Social Prescribing Networks;
  • Health Visitors;
  • Social Workers;
  • Early Years Practitioners;
  • Family Support Workers;
  • Voluntary & Community Organisations;
  • Commissioners;
  • Policy Makers;
  • Parents and Volunteers.

Why attend?

This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet others and find out more about this exciting, new on-line community where practitioners, volunteers, parents and funders can connect and share ‘what works’ during each stage of planning, designing, setting-up, implementing and reviewing a volunteer peer support initiative.

  • Connect with others
  • Find out how to get involved with the new online community
  • Be inspired: listen to stories from volunteers and parents
  • Gain knowledge from the latest research about ‘what works’
  • Share learning with practitioners and funders
